Don't Forget The Ceiling - The 5th Wall

Don't forget the ceiling when you are redecorating a room! It is now known as the 5th wall and on occasion used as an accent. You are less likely to see imperfections with Benjamin Moore's Waterborne Ceiling Paint as it is ultra flat and gives off minimum glare. The ceiling paint can be tinted to all of the Benjamin Moore colors.

Ceiling Tip: When repainting a room always start with the ceiling then move on to the walls. Use a roller with a telescoping handle and apply two coats.

Boys Playroom
The brown and green stripe on the ceiling actually makes the room look higher. Painting the back of the shelving really pulls the room together.  

Girls Bedroom
Go bold with this coral and white striped ceiling. The aqua gives the room a serene feel. Every young girl will love this!

Kitchen
Included in Benjamin Moore's 2013 Color Trends is Marblehead Gold (HC-11). Here they have applied it to the ceiling for that punch of color. The pairing with the Polo Blue (2062-10) adds a flare of sophistication.

The Gossamer Blue (2123-40) on the ceiling here really lends the room to an intimate dining space. The crown molding in the blue is the perfect finishing touch.

Kitchen Color Combinations

The kitchen is a perfect room for expressing your personal style. Introducing color on the walls and with accents is a great approach as these can be changed affordably. You will be able to switch out your accents as trends and your taste change.

Lemon Sorbet - Benjamin Moore Color of the Year 2013

In an earlier post we revealed Benjamin Moore Color Trends for 2013. They chose beautiful colors that can work with just about any home furnishings. In this post we look more at Lemon Sorbet, their selection for 2013 Color of theYear, and where we are seeing this cheerful color.

Benjamin Moore states "This beautiful yellow harmonizes with other trending pastels in the mint, coral, pink, blue, and vanilla families. Uplifting without being overpowering, lemon sorbet (2019-60) complements almost any color palette and provides a unifying element for diverse spaces."

This elegant lemon yellow silk fabric is perfect for throw pillows as well as window panel curtains. Or better yet go with both to tie the room together. Take the plunge!

 

A nice soft subtle yellow and white paisley is always a nice compliment to any room. If you don't want to overpower the room, try it on one wall.  The lemon yellow and white lattice really brightens up any kitchen.
