2013 Paint Color Trends

Benjamin Moore is predicting a pastel color palette for 2013 with Lemon Sorbet, a representation of optimism, as the color of the year. "It's the perfect partner for the emerging palette of freshened, polished pastels that promise to be favorites in the coming year," says Sonu Matthew, Benjamin Moore's senior interior designer. The color trends of 2013 have been broken out into 4 color groups, totaling 20 colors. For inspiration, see below for the groupings as well as photo examples.

The first group, Coastal, represents soft, soothing and relaxing hues. These are colors you would find in a spa or a restful retreat.

The New Traditional palette represents the feminine colors such as dusty mauve paired with the masculine evening dove.

The Artisan trend represents rich deep warm colors. This combination adds sophistication to the space.

The final grouping, Urbanite, is a combination of traditional and bold colors. The polo blue and marblehead gold make an exciting combination especially with the gold on the ceiling. Known as the 5th wall, painted ceilings are on the rise!
